Such a wonderful wine - from it's drop-dead beautiful crimson colour, to the emphasis on fresh, bright fruit. It centres on red berries, with hints of white pepper, red cherries and violet. It's medium-bodied, with fine but noticeable tannins, and some gravelly earth to close things out. Great drinking.
La Linea is a collaboration between three highly experienced wine professionals: David LeMire, Peter Leske, and Jason Quin. Their first vintage was in 2007, after winemaker Peter Leske could not get the imagined aroma and taste of a pale, dry, fine Tempranillo rosé out of his mind. He knew of no such wine being made in Australia, but he also knew an Adelaide Hills vineyard which produced fruit perfect for the wine… and La Linea was born.
